REDA Oilfield UK Ltd, a leading supplier of oilfield chemistry solutions to the oil and gas industry, has strengthened its technology team with the addition of Dr Stefan Dilsky, Separation Group manager. Stefan has over 10 years industry experience and reports into the growing technology organisation lead by Catherine Strachan, REDA Oilfield Technical Director. Catherine commented “We are delighted to bring Stefan onboard with his experience, enthusiasm and insight into demulsification and its many facets.”
After receiving his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Würzburg, Germany, Stefan started his industrial career as R&D manager for oil production chemicals, the area was later expanded to mining chemicals. His focus was on synthesis and development of demulsifiers, but also asphaltene and paraffin dispersants and water clarifiers / deoilers. He gained significant knowledge in the chemistry behind demulsifiers, their manufacturing and blending, and in demulsification and water clarification in general. He (co)authored several patents on new demulsifiers, dispersants, fuel additives and mining chemicals.
Stefan’s experience on demulsifier application spans over a wide range of crude oil types, including heavy oils , resolving emulsions in 10 – 12 API crude oils, light oils, such as central Arabia, and waxy/asphaltenic oils as seen in the UAE, North/West Africa and Brazil.
