Morocco has become a major hub for automobile manufacturing, mainly for export. It has signed deals for up to 26 auto industry projects as it seeks to build its position as an international focal point for the sector. Renault, the French multinational automobile manufacturer, has already produced around one million cars in Morocco since 2012. French auto Group PSA (Peugeot) will soon start manufacturing cars there to optimize its production costs, just as many other automotive suppliers have already done. Opel will soon follow. Undoubtedly, it’s a market segment that is fast gaining recognition and could be an axis for the automotive industry in the near future.
