REDA Oilfield Awarded with ISO 14001:2004 Certificate

sgsREDA Oilfield is pleased to announce their UK facility in Aberdeen has passed its recent series of compliance audits culminating in a 2 day surveillance/assessment visit by SGS and has now received its ISO 14001:2004 certification.

The scope of activities covered by the certificate is the supply of speciality oilfield chemicals and associated services.Christina Anthony, QHSE Technical Assistant, pictured below commented “This is another significant and important milestone achievement for the Organisation and continues to support our growth and development. Using ISO 14001:2004 will provide assurance to external stakeholders, customers, regulators and the public that environmental impact is being measured and improved by REDA Oilfield. One area of particular significance is the importance placed on the development of environmentally friendly oilfield chemicals for use in the offshore North Sea, WP_20140528_15_18_36_Prowith one of the highest ratios of environmentally acceptable product on the OCNS listing for a production chemical supplier. REDA Oilfield UK Strengthen Technology Team

REDA Oilfield UK Ltd, a leading supplier of oilfield chemistry solutions to the oil and gas industry, has strengthened its technology team with the addition of Dr Stefan Dilsky, Separation Group manager. Stefan has over 10 years industry experience and reports into the growing technology organisation lead by Catherine Strachan, REDA Oilfield Technical Director. Catherine commented “We are delighted to bring Stefan onboard with his experience, enthusiasm and insight into demulsification and its many facets.”

After receiving his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Würzburg, Germany, Stefan started his industrial career as R&D manager for oil production chemicals, the area was later expanded to mining chemicals. His focus was on synthesis and development of demulsifiers, but also asphaltene and paraffin dispersants and water clarifiers / deoilers. He gained significant knowledge in the chemistry behind demulsifiers, their manufacturing and blending, and in demulsification and water clarification in general. He (co)authored several patents on new demulsifiers, dispersants, fuel additives and mining chemicals.

Stefan’s experience on demulsifier application spans over a wide range of crude oil types, including heavy oils , resolving emulsions in 10 – 12 API crude oils, light oils, such as central Arabia, and waxy/asphaltenic oils as seen in the UAE, North/West Africa and Brazil.

REDA Oilfield recently participated in ChemIndix 2013 the 9th International Chemistry in Industry Conference and Exhibition, ChemIndix 2013 Opening Ceremony held 2 – 6th November 2013 in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

As official Gold Sponsor of the event REDA Oilfield were highly active both in the exhibition and the technical sessions with representation from both REDA Oilfield UK and REDA Oilfield KSA attending.

The event was hosted and organised by the American Chemical Society and included Saudi Aramco, Bapco, Dupont, Sadara and Naizak.

REDA Oilfield were honoured to receive Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa the Advisor for Industrial and Petroleum Affairs for HRH  Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime minister of Bahrain and Patron of ChemIndix 2013 at their booth, where he was introduced to Managing Director Gordon Moir and the rest of the REDA Oilfield team.

Following the meeting Gordon Moir commented that “His Royal Highness displayed a keen interest in the activities of REDA Oilfield within the Oil and Gas Industry and the importance of the role of chemistry and chemicals within the industry.

The well supported technical sessions focussed on “Energy Transformation: Feasibility to Sustainability” with sessions dedicated to addressing the challenges associated with the growing global demand for energy and its associated supply. Key session covered scale and corrosion mitigation, production and oilfield technologies, environmental issues and solutions and refining and petrochemicals Processes.  REDA Oilfield Technical Director Catherine Strachan gave a well received presentation on “Proven methods for Scale Control in the Oilfield.”

REDA Oilfield – open for business!

We are proud to announce that our Aberdeen research laboratory and offices were officially opened for business in November 2012. The facility is situated within the Craibstone Campus set in beautiful, secluded forest grounds.  Located on the outskirts of Aberdeen and with the Airport only 1 mile away REDA Oilfield is conveniently located for customers and suppliers.  There is even an 18-hole golf course near by!

Gordon Moir & Catherine Strachan are Managing Director and Technical Director respectively and deliver a wealth of Oil & Gas experience having worked in a number of roles within the sector.  They lead a young and vibrant UK team that collectively boast over 7 decades of production chemical expertise.
